Davis McBee

Coach Serio moved from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to play soccer at Belmont Abbey College (BAC). Growing up, Serio played ECNL soccer in Florida which helped him develop the skillset to become a 4-year starter at BAC as a holding midfielder. His notable collegiate accomplishments were:

• Team Captain
• 2-year 1st Team All-Conference
• Scholar Athlete of the Year for the Conference Carolinas

Coach Serio was named the Technical Director for SGCSA this spring. Serio says, "From individual players to team dynamics, I am hoping to effect change across all age groups. If your player needs 1-on-1 training to further develop his or her technical skills, tactical gameplay, or playing speed, I would love to connect on how we can help your child unlock the next level of their game.

Davis McBee is a Gaston County native who played with SCGSA prior to his 5-year college career at Belmont Abbey College (BAC). Davis is currently finishing his MBA from BAC and continues to play semi-professional soccer in the area. His collegiate accomplishments while at BAC were:

• Team Captain
• NCAA Division II All American Team
• NCAA Division II South-East All Region Team
• Conference Carolinas Player of the Year
• 1st Team All-Conference
• Conference Carolinas Championship

Coach McBee has assisted in leading training camps for our club for several years. He hopes to continue to serve the club that has been his home much of his life.

William Whitman is from Greensboro, NC moving to play college soccer at Belmont Abbey College (BAC). William is currently still at the Abbey going into his 4th year with the program. William has played two years of semi-pro soccer in the USL2 league and looks to do a third this summer. His collegiate accomplishments and coaching experiences are:

• Two-year starter for BAC
• 4 years experience in the youth sports industry
• 2nd season training with SGCSA
• Conference Carolina Defensive Player of the Week during the 2023 season

Coach Whitman is our Goalkeeper Trainer for the second season in a row. Whitman shares, “I am looking forward to continuing to build up these young goalkeepers. I have a curriculum that has evolved from last season and I can’t wait to watch the improvement.” Coach Whitman means it! He's passionate about the position and we don't hesitate to recommend him to any goalie's looking to improve.
